Join us as our attending filmmakers engage in conversation about the highs and lows of filmmaking! This is an awesome event for anyone (of all ages) interested in filmmaking and want the inside scoop to what it all entails. This will immediately follow the Fiscal Sponsorship Workshop.

ZOOM DISCUSSION WITH PHIL HAWKINS, Director of Robin and the Hoods |  Saturday, November 23, 1PM – 2:00 PM

Attention all filmmakers who are interested in learning about distribution, marketing your film, and all the ins and outs of how to proceed once your project is finished- this is the event for you! We will have director, Phil Hawkins, joining us live via Zoom to share his experiences and advices to independent filmmakers. This is a great chance to learn more about independent filmmaking and get your questions answered!

Phil’s film, Robin and the Hoods, will be screening at the festival Saturday, November 23rd at 7PM. You won’t want to miss that!

FLIP BOOK ANIMATION WORKSHOP |  Sunday, November 24, 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM

Do you enjoy animation and want to expand your storytelling skills? Join us for an immersive flip book workshop and learn how to bring a bouncing ball to life! This workshop will be following the screening of the Short, Sweet, and Animated film block and led by local animator, Rachel Whipple.  All materials will be provided, just bring yourself and your creativity! 

The event is perfect for all ages!

ABOUT RACHEL:

Rachel Whipple has a B.F.A in Animation and Interactive Media at Umass Lowell with minors
in art history and music. She specialized in 3D props modeling and 2D visual development. Umass Lowell spring 2024 purchased “Mine” , her senior design thesis project, to be a part of a permanent exhibition on campus. Rachel hopes that can start a conversation and bring happiness to people through her work.
